Julia Koehler lives and works in Harrisonburg, Virginia and was a 2022 recipient of the Award of Distinction in Time-Based Art from James Madison University. Examples of her numerous group exhibitions include Warrior’s Attire at Duke Hall Gallery Court and Earful at The Marketplace Gallery, located in the heart of Downtown Harrisonburg. In 2024, she received a Senior Achievement Award for painting from JMU. She recently participated in the Taubman Museum’s 66th annual Art Sideart Show and displayed work at the Second Street Gallery and Shenandoah Valley Arts Center. In 2025, she was awarded a residency at Woodstock Byrdcliffe Guild. She looks forward to pursuing interactive elements in her painting and sculpture practices.
